i couldn't believe it...i didnt even have to pre-kill the cricket...i dropped it in..the scorp went directly for it and didn't even give it a chance...within 2 minutes it was dead

This falls under the "make up your own games" category.

Guess how long it is until my Vaejovis spinigerus pops! Winner will receive one of the babies when they hit 2I and harden up. (More if I have too many to want to deal with.)

These photos were taken last night, 4/27/08. Guesses must be in the form of a single day -- whoever is closest wins. If there's a tie -- BOTH get a baby!

Adam and I need to move scorplings into new tanks, get others moved about etc etc...such as his T Blondi needs to be put into a bigger tank *not looking forward to that*

But no shop has the coco fibre and we want to get this done!

Would buying Organic compost be ok to use for scorpions and Tarantulas? I just dont know, we have always used the coco fibre

My emperor gave birth to 12 scorplings on June 1st. After they came off her back, they were put into a separate tank and are doing great - currently in 3i.

Mom has been doing well since, but has stopped eating. She hasn't eaten anything in about 3 or 4 weeks now. I just thought she was going thru a phase... She is still very active and is drinking.

However, I just got a good look at her, and the area on her abdomen near her tail looks odd. It's swollen on one side. The other side is ...

i have ordered 3 chinese mantids nymphs (from eBay...i know...bad...) and for some reason, through all my googling and forum searching, cannot find a detailed caresheet for these guys. its probably because they are so common and they are bought for pest controll in america, but there should be a good caresheet somewhere....

ok so this afternoon i was sat around then i noticed my chillean rose on its back and straight away thought the worse, (as nymph knows lol) then i noticed she was laying on a bed of silk and thought omg shes shedding out in the open, i found this very weird, and was just hoping she was shedding, she looked like this

i'm getting my first T from lee at thespidershop.co.uk. I already know it's gonna be a chilean sp. probably a grammostola. I saw a beautiful RCF rosea, and I think that is probably what i will get. then I saw a spiderling Euathlus truculentus. really nice looking T. but it's a spiderling and I hear they are really slow growers. and there a few other adult grammostola T's, "chile red zebra" , and the normal g.rosea. ...

was looking on martin goss site and he has some new scorpions in.

he has some Diplocentrus spitzeri in... but the picture he has looks identical to scorpio maurus like what i have.

I was under the impression that the D.Spitzeri was mahogony red / brown with orange banding and legs. the peds also look to be slightly more angular than S.Maurus.

Google any image of athe D.spitzeri and i cant find one like this picture: -

Heterometrus scorplings

I need to get them properly Id'ed but I think they are Heterometrus laoticus.

The babies are now 1 week and 2 days old. I took the picture yesterday. I poured water into her little tank today. I dont know if she is trying to kill them. I dont know...they just dont seem to be growing and she seems to be out the hide all the time and in "dry" parts. Made me think about what happen to Mikes brood that he mentioned. So ive put water in and again the towel is and always has been on.

So i dont really see her too often and today i was sorting through all the stuff around our reptile room were the scorps are and i found this nice piece of rainbow rock to put in her tank as a new hide and i picked up her old hide and bam there she was in all her glory and she is HUGE take a look
