grrrrrr
I have been caring for my garden. A month ago or a little bit more we planted many plants, one being an oriental poppy shrub. It was so small, nothing but a few leaves. In the ground it FLOURISHED! doubling in size and then some. These thick tall leaves and TWO flower heads reaching to the heavens, growing bigger and bigger...any day now set to open to show the wonderful flowers

BUT OH NO! that dream is dashed.

Pumpkin and Amber began having a rough and tumble and rolled right into it and SNAPPED it at the base, totally ruined, totally gone

I'm no botanist/gardener & this may sound daft but could you take cuttings & bring them on with rooting powder?

sorry about that connie, but you could try putting whats left of the plant back in the ground, it may sprout new roots. ot take a few cuttings as barry said, I've done this with various plants before.

We have placed the snapped off long stem and leaves (all still stuck together still) but already its just wilting in the water

stick it in moist soil instead of just water, that might work.

too late, its basically dead now. Oh well.
Hopefully the roots that remained with the other poppy head will grow again next year. Thats what you get when you have 4 cats and plants in the garden with long stems

One of our cats is a demon when it comes to houseplants . . . she can't seem to connect her punishments with the crimes, even when we catch her in the act, and basically ate all the live greenery of Lori's sundews. Sad

Hopefully we'll both grow back. The sundews are now safe in the bedroom.

After squirting her and throwing her in the bathroom for timeout, I came back out and found one of Lori's Poecilotheria containers on the floor. Evil or Very Mad

The spider was fine, but I don't know what we're going to do about that damned cat.

Eddy, get a squirt gun and squirt her in the face when she gets too close to your scorps. She should learn to avoid them pretty quick.

Sincere apologies to those who took offense to my cat nuisance policies. I'm for freedom of speech as much as I am sensitive to the feelings of others. As a result I shall remove my previous post.
