PostSubject: My displacement   10/24/2009, 12:21 am

Ugh, I swore that I wouldn't disappear again almost a year ago but you can't control reality. So, at any rate, I ended up getting this sweet lease on a place and a contract putting in a Home Depot a few towns over and then the landlord told me she decided that she didn't want to rent to my "kind" (single male) and showed a serious disdain for the type of animals I kept even though the other side of the duplex had an adult Pit Bull. The next step was to move into a camper and right before that happened I lost my adult female H. longipes and a handful of slings, so I stashed the animals with a friend until he moved and then had them in the camper with me for the summer (surprisingly, I didn't lose anything there - good husbandry on my part). I got laid off not long after moving into the camper and denied my unemployment by the end of August (tough times in the land of the rich and home of the slave). I got back into school at the end of July, working on my B.A. in secondary education and ended up back at my sis' by late August. So, I'm back again...it's always really frustrating catching up after being gone for a while, even if it's just a week at the rate the hobby progresses, so I'll try my best to be on top of things. I haven't gotten any new scorps since last summer and my collection has dwindled down to 2 scorps and 4 t's - I'm working on that though. I owe Ron Lech big time because I had an order with him that he was holding onto when I dropped off the face of the earth earlier this year - I'll make it up to him. That's the gist of my story of the year, there's a lot more but I'm not going to lay it all out right off the bat.

I'm out of here, this place has become a breeding ground for idiots with no controls set. I'll be where the science and hobby is progressing not regressing.

Yeah, I've been going through this crap for 11yrs now. It wasn't so bad when I was younger because I had no attachments and was more interested in rambling and touring than sitting still but I have had no choice but to sit still for the past few years and it makes it harder to roll with the punches. I keep my head up, I've seen some pretty tough times - this is just a long and drawn out stretch of crap.

Isn't that illegal? scratch

In any case, I'm glad you're back on the forum. Very Happy I hope things hit an upswing for you.

Yes, very much illegal - it goes against the Equal Housing Opportunity Act. I was really pissed at first because I had my truck there and some of my things as well as my animals. I had the lease for 5 days and the day I was supposed to officially move in, she decided against it because the previous guy trashed the place - I'll note that I promised to remodel the place as part of the deal with moving in too; at first she was all for having me move in and then changed her mind. HUD files lawsuits and covers displacement costs behalf of people that have that happen and I was going to contact them, but after a few months I had a change of heart.

I'm hoping for an upswing too.

Speaking of upswing, I talked to Chris "Fauxshow" the other day (noticed he hasn't been here in a while). I'm gonna get some new scorps from him and maybe get some cagemates for my sole remaining H. judaicus.
